Only Down Guys is a Fall Guys version of my original Only Down game. However, the game itself is much different than the original. For starters, you play as Fall Guys characters who have their own physics and movement system. Additionally, creating UEFN Fall Guys maps is much more limited than traditional maps. Because of this, I needed to code a completely custom fall damage mechanic in Verse (traditional fall damage is not an option on Fall Guys islands). This was done by tracking the player’s height when they jumped and tracking the player’s height when they landed. If the difference between those 2 numbers was too high (in my case, 1200 meters), the player would respawn at the top of the map. The map also features spinning and moving traps that the player has to avoid, custom UI, custom crown collectibles, custom background music, and a checkpoint/respawn system!
